Sexual harassment

We can provide legal advice to anyone who has been sexually harassed or assaulted at work or at university.

If you have experienced sexual assault or harassment, getting legal advice as soon as possible so you fully understand your rights can be vital.

We understand that for most people who experience sexual harassment or assault in the workplace or at universtiy the best outcome would be for them to be able to continue in their current position. At Donaldson Law we work with employers and universities to achieve solutions that will keep you in your job or place of study if possible.

By acting early and involving your employer or university to find holistic solutions, that could include an acknowledgment of and apology for the harassment, an assurance that changes are made to prevent further harassment, as well as providing assistance, it is far more likely you will have a positive outcome.

1 in 5 people will have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace in the past 5 years, according to the Australian Human Rights Commission. Whilst the vast majority of people being harassed are women, men harassing other men accounted for almost a quarter (23%) of these statistics.

Sexual harassment is any unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature. If a reasonable person would anticipate this behaviour might make you feel offended, humiliated or intimidated, it may be sexual harassment.
